These changes aren’t monumental, but they do show how more thoughtful UX Writing design improves the overall experience by reducing friction, providing clarity, and most importantly, giving users the confidence to click the big fat “Start” button.
For websites that aren’t trying to feed you ads, users are going to land and leave as quickly as possible; this is a fact. Whether they find what they’re looking for is up to you. So if we treat every visitor like a driver approaching a stop sign, what’s the best way to get them the information they need?
There have been many blogs and articles hyping up the migration of Torontonians to greener (with more square footage) pastures. I’ve even had a couple of friends pack up and head way north of the city. Although there is plenty of anecdotal evidence of these migrations, I wanted to take a closer look at the data and see who exactly is jumping ship and whether Toronto will soon resemble a ghost town.
Every year, the Province of Ontario publishes a searchable list of public sector employees that are paid $100,000 or more in base salary for the calendar year. And every year, I find myself perusing the online database and accidentally searching for all of my friends in the public sector (and seeing if they received that raise they rightly deserve!)
Any basketball discussion involving analytics and statistics boils down to the pro-analytics camp versus the anti-analytics camp.
